I Need Your Help Please

I knew from the start that this journey was not going to be easy, fast or free. In fact it has very much been the opposite. Although WordPress is a superb free online content management system – one of the best ever created – if you want to reach particular heights with design and themes to achieve your ultimate outcome, plugins have to be bought (and although some may try to convince others that the entry level ‘free’ versions will suffice, tell ’em they’re dreamin’.

Skip forward past the ‘almost deleted the whole thing’ and ‘how many plugins does this WordPress thing really need’ to ‘I’ve got this far, I really can’t give up now’ and ‘holy crackin’ duck dodo, I have spent a lot of money’ – I really hope it makes at least these set-up costs back’.

Typically, when it doesn’t take off as one had hoped, disillusion, disappointment, depression (in some way, shape or form), disaster relief plans, and eventual control alt delete. At this point you are also going through the goodness knows how many stages of self hatred, blaming everyone except yourself for the failure, various levels of ‘woulda | shoulda | coulda’ and countless amounts of whatiferies.

What I am trying to do is avoid the ‘closing down, closing the PC, closing the door, closing down completely’ stage. I seriously love creating sites, all of the other work I do especially Q Magazine, and although the number is diminishing with each passing year, I’m enjoying being alive.
