Being a nosey parker may, on occasion, bring some fruits. On this occasion it brought the discovery of two incredibly handy and highly functioning apps: Beeper & Simplenote

One inbox for all your chats
Get the most popular messaging services, all in a single app.

Get Beeper

Beeper is free to use, with optional paid subscription. You can use Beeper on all your devices—your messages sync seamlessly. Our apps are available on Android, iPhone, iPad, ChromeOS, macOS, Windows and Linux.

About Beeper

Beeper is a standalone app with no affiliation or endorsement from Apple, Google, Meta, or any other chat platform we support. We respect the platforms we integrate with and their business models. Each one pushes messaging forward in unique ways, and we’re here to amplify that. Our roadmap includes linking out to native apps for premium features, helping power users (like those managing multiple brand accounts) get more done with a unified, pro-grade interface.

The simplest way to keep notes

All your notes, synced on all your devices. Get Simplenote now for iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux, or in your browser.

It is true, and something I’m sure more astute reader will be saying right now under their breath ‘this just looks like a re-branded version of Google Keep. I agree, and essentially it is. There’s nothing wrong or conflicting about having several different apps like this. The ONE major advantage of Automattic’s Simplenote is its seamless and efficient syncing across all platforms.

Suffice to say I have both apps on my laptop and use them exclusively. Simplenote is completely free. Beeper has both a free and a subscription-based version. I note though that the paid version is only AUD $9.99/month (with a higher version around the AUD $50/month). If you download it today, you’ll also enjoy a 30 day trial of the ‘pro version’ for free – I think it’s worth it.
